It's a short menu trip, not a workflow. The path is Edit image > Remove background, and Google's help doc covers the identical flow across "Google Drawings, Slides & Vids" (Google Docs Editors Help, retrieved 15 July 2026). Expand background is the underrated one here, and video is why. Vids works in a fixed frame, usually 16:9, and stock images almost never match it. Normally you crop and lose half your subject. Expanding the background instead of cropping the image solves a problem that barely exists in a slide deck and constantly exists in a video timeline.
